Anchor winch is used for lowering and lifting of anchor with wire rope. 

Anchor is connected with rope by 4-10m anchor chain. 

Hydraulic and electric driven are available.

Advantage: compact structure; chain locker is not required.

Disadvantage: wire rope is easier to be rusted than chain.

Braking force as per rules requirements for windlass.
